Frequently Asked Questions

General

What sports does Torneos MVP support?

Torneos MVP supports Table Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Futsal, 7-a-side Football, Padel, Tennis, Racketball, Squash, Volleyball, and JiuJitsu.

Is Torneos MVP available in multiple languages?

Yes. The platform is available in Spanish and English.

Can I use Torneos MVP on my phone?

Yes. The platform is fully responsive and works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. The referee panel and live scoreboards are especially optimized for mobile use.

Do I need an account to view tournaments and rankings?

No. Public tournaments and rankings are visible without an account. An account is only required to manage tournaments, register for competitions, or access the referee panel.

Tournaments

Can I have multiple age groups or divisions in one tournament?

Yes. A single tournament can have unlimited categories (called Valids), each with its own bracket, registrations, and standings. All categories run independently within the same tournament.

Can players self-register, or do I have to add them manually?

Both options are available. You can enable self-registration with a public link, require manual approval for each registration, or add players directly yourself — or combine all approaches.

What happens if the number of players doesn't fill a bracket perfectly?

The system automatically inserts byes (empty slots). Players with a bye advance to the next round without playing. Seeded players typically receive the byes.

Can I change results after a match is entered?

Yes. Operators and administrators with the appropriate permissions can edit match results from the live control panel after they have been submitted.

Can I run a tournament with multiple phases (groups then knockout)?

Yes. Each category (Valid) can have multiple phases. You can configure a group stage that feeds into a knockout bracket, a repechage bracket, or any custom combination.

Can I duplicate a tournament for a new edition?

Yes. Use the Duplicate quick action from the tournament overview. This clones the full configuration so you only need to update the name, dates, and open registrations.

Rankings

Do rankings update automatically?

Yes. As soon as a match result is entered in a tournament linked to a ranking modality, the ranking updates automatically — no manual action required.

Can I run multiple ranking types at the same time?

Yes. You can configure multiple modalities within a single ranking (e.g., ELO, points, win-ratio) and they all update independently from the same tournament results.

Can players see how their ranking points were calculated?

Yes. The platform provides a full audit trail showing which tournaments and matches contributed to each player's points and position.

Can I freeze the ranking at the end of a season?

Yes. The platform supports period snapshots — frozen copies of the ranking standings at a specific date. These are useful for end-of-season archives.

Streaming and Displays

What software do I need for streaming overlays?

Torneos MVP overlays are designed as browser sources for OBS (Open Broadcaster Software, free at obsproject.com). They work with any platform that supports browser sources, including Streamlabs and XSplit.

Do I need to refresh the overlay after each match?

No. The overlays update automatically in real time as scores are entered.

What streaming platforms can I stream to?

OBS can stream to any platform that accepts RTMP: YouTube Live, Twitch, Facebook Live, and custom RTMP servers.

Does the display work without internet on the venue TV?

No. The display is browser-based and requires an internet connection to receive live data from the tournament.

Referees

Do referees need a Torneos MVP account?

Not necessarily. Organizers can generate a unique access link for each referee that works without a login.

What if a referee loses internet during a match?

The referee panel is designed to work offline. Scores entered without a connection are stored locally and sync automatically when the connection is restored.

Can multiple referees enter scores for the same match?

The match is assigned to a specific referee. Only the assigned referee (or an operator with permissions) should enter or modify scores to avoid conflicting entries.

Access and Accounts

Can I manage multiple clubs or organizations from one account?

Yes. Torneos MVP supports multiple communities per account. Use the account switcher in the top navigation to move between them.

How do I invite someone to join my community?

Go to Dashboard → Members of the org. and use Add member. Enter their email and assign a role. They will receive access when they open the invitation.

What happens if I delete a community member?

Their access is revoked immediately. Their historical data (matches, ranking records) is preserved.

Can I give someone access to only some areas of the community?

Yes. The role system is fully granular — you can create roles with exactly the permissions you want, down to which areas they can view and what actions they can perform.
