OBS Setup for Streaming
Torneos MVP generates browser source URLs that plug directly into OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). These overlays update automatically as match results come in — no manual graphic editing needed.
What you need
- OBS installed on your streaming computer (free at obsproject.com)
- A stable internet connection on the streaming machine
- The tournament configured with at least one court in Torneos MVP
- Your display URL from Torneos MVP (see below)
Step 1: Get the display URL from Torneos MVP
For the streaming scoreboard:
- Open your tournament in the dashboard.
- Go to Courts (Canchas) in the side navigation.
- Open the court you want to broadcast.
- Find the Displays section and click the Streaming Scoreboard link or copy icon.
- Copy the URL.
For the next matches queue:
- Same path as above.
- Copy the Next Matches URL instead.
Step 2: Add a browser source in OBS
- In OBS, open the Sources panel at the bottom.
- Click the + button.
- Select Browser.
- Name it clearly (e.g., "Torneos - Court 1 Scoreboard").
- Paste the Torneos MVP URL into the URL field.
- Set the width and height:
- For full-HD streaming: 1920 × 1080
- For 720p streaming: 1280 × 720
- Check Shutdown source when not visible to save resources.
- Click OK.
The browser source will load and show the live scoreboard. You can position and resize it within your scene.
Step 3: Position the overlay
The Streaming Scoreboard is designed as a transparent overlay. Place it on top of your camera feed or other background:
- In OBS, drag the browser source to the correct position in your scene.
- Use the handles to resize if needed.
- Typically scoreboards are placed at the bottom or top edge of the frame.
Recommended OBS scene structure
| Scene | Contents |
|---|---|
| Match Live | Camera(s) + Streaming Scoreboard overlay |
| Pause / Between Matches | Static background or next-match queue + sponsor display |
| Sponsor Rotation | Sponsor images or video (Torneos MVP tournament display can include sponsor rotation) |
| Opening / Closing | Static or animated intro/outro |
Tips for a stable stream
- Run OBS and Torneos MVP displays on the same machine or on a machine with a wired internet connection for reliability.
- Test the display URL in a browser first to confirm it loads correctly before going live.
- The scoreboard refreshes automatically — you do not need to reload the browser source.
- If the overlay appears blank, check that the court has an active match assigned in the live control panel.
Streaming platforms
The OBS output can be directed to any streaming platform that accepts RTMP streams:
- YouTube Live
- Twitch
- Facebook Live
- Custom RTMP servers
Configure the platform connection in OBS under Settings → Stream.
