Linking Rankings to Tournaments

For tournament results to automatically update a ranking, you must connect a tournament category (Valid) to a ranking modality. This connection is what tells the platform: "when a match in this category finishes, add points to this ranking."

Prerequisites

Linking a tournament category to a ranking modality

  1. Open your tournament.
  2. Navigate to Phases & Rounds (or the tournament's category view).
  3. Find the category (Valid) you want to link.
  4. Click Assign Ranking or the ranking assignment option within the category settings.
  5. Select the ranking and the specific modality from the dropdown.
  6. Save.

From this point forward, every match result in that category will:

  • Calculate the appropriate points for each player based on their result
  • Update their position in the linked ranking modality
  • Create a balance record in the player's history

Linking multiple categories to the same ranking

You can link multiple tournament categories (even from different tournaments) to the same ranking modality. This is how season-long rankings accumulate points across many events:

  • Tournament A — U14 Boys Singles → Ranking: "2025 Club Singles", Modality: U14 Boys
  • Tournament B — U14 Boys Singles → Same Ranking, same modality

Both tournaments contribute to the same standing table.

If you made a mistake or need to remove a ranking link:

  1. Open the category (Valid) settings.
  2. Find the assigned ranking.
  3. Click Remove or unassign it.

Warning: Removing a ranking link does not retroactively delete points already calculated. It only stops future results from contributing. Contact your platform administrator if you need to reverse past point calculations.

Viewing linked rankings

From the tournament overview, you can quickly view the current standings of all rankings linked to your tournament by clicking View Rankings in the quick actions bar.
