Tournament Status and Lifecycle
A tournament in Torneos MVP moves through defined states that reflect where it is in its lifecycle. Understanding these states helps you manage the tournament's progression correctly.
Status overview
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Not Started | The tournament has been created and configured but matches have not yet begun. Registrations may be open or closed. |
| In Progress | Matches are actively being played. The live control panel is the main workspace during this phase. |
| Paused | The tournament has been temporarily halted — for example, due to weather, scheduling issues, or a break between days. |
| Finished | All matches have been completed. Results are final and rankings have been updated. |
| Canceled | The tournament has been canceled. Results, if any, are preserved but the tournament is closed. |

If you run the same tournament regularly (annually, monthly, etc.), use the Duplicate quick action:
- Open the tournament overview.
- Click Duplicate in the quick actions.
- The platform clones the full configuration:
- Categories and phase setup

- Ranking links
- Match rules per phase
- Update the name and dates for the new edition.

This saves significant setup time for recurring events.
